NYC FC Releases Their Inaugural Home Kit

Frank Lampard doesn’t even need to get a different jersey after his loan ends at Manchester City. Instead, he can just wear his Manchester City jersey when he plays in MLS next season and no one will be able to notice the difference. I expected so much better than this after all the mock fan designs I saw before this announcement. It is not that the Manchester City jersey’s are bad but I expected New York City FC to at least alter the look to separate themselves a little bit from their father club. “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it,” applies here in some way but I’m hoping the away kit takes more risks.

MLS Release 2015 Conferences

With the addition of Orlando City SC and New York City FC in 2015, MLS will have 20 clubs for the league’s 20th season and will feature a new conference alignment.  Most notably, the Houston Dynamo and 2013 MLS Cup Champions Sporting Kansas City will move to the Western Conference, creating two 10-team conferences. The 2015 conference assignments are as follows:

Eastern Conference Western Conference
Chicago Fire
Columbus Crew
D.C. United
Montreal Impact
New England Revolution
New York City FC
New York Red Bulls
Orlando City SC
Philadelphia Union
Toronto FC
Colorado Rapids
FC Dallas
Houston Dynamo
Sporting Kansas City
LA Galaxy
Portland Timbers
Real Salt Lake
San Jose Earthquakes
Seattle Sounders FC
Vancouver Whitecaps FC

For the 2015 season, the 20 teams will each play 34 games during the regular season. Clubs will play each team in the opposing conference once for five home and five away matches. Clubs will play each of their nine conference opponents at least twice (one home, one away), plus six additional intra-conference games — three home and three away.

MLS will conduct a Dispersal Draft of the Chivas USA roster in the near future. More details regarding the Dispersal Draft will be announced at a later date.

There was a lot of debate on how the conferences would be aligned for the 2015 season with the addition of Orlando City SC and NYCFC and MLS has finally announced what the conference and schedules will look like. They went with the conservative options which is pretty understandable. Why make it more complicated then it has to be?

On a side note how excited is everyone for the 2015 MLS season? I know the 2014 season isn’t over yet but I need Frank Lampard, Kaka, and David Villa in MLS now and I needed it yesterday.
