Jack Warner Cites ‘The Onion’ in His Own Defense Against Corruption

Jack Warner, a former vice president of world soccer’s governing body, FIFA, defended himself against corruption charges on Sunday by citing an article from The Onion, apparently unaware that it was satire.

This has happened before where people quote Onion articles as if they were real completely unaware that it is a satirical news source. Every time it happens I am completely dumbfounded. The Onion articles are always so blatantly satirical that you have to have the undeveloped brain of a three year old child not to recognize it as satire. The fact that a FIFA executive is stupid enough to cite a satirical news source in his defense leads me to believe that he was stupid enough to leave a large paper trail to go along with his corruption. FIFA, you can’t make this stuff up *shaking my head*.
