This game was a good test for the young talent within the USMNT system. It was also a coming out party for Mix Diskerud who had a fantastic game and showed that he is capable of being a crucial part of the USMNT team. While he has always been a good talent (he made the World Cup roster) he has always been on the fringes of becoming a real contributor. After this game it will be important to keep an eye on Mix to see if he can keep this up to become a consistent contributor. Joe Gyau also had a good game and seemed like he could become a real threat if he gets some more polish from Jurgen Klopp. Lastly, Emerson Hyndman looked composed on the ball. He showed some nerves on the field but his vision was evident and if developed correctly he can be a huge weapon for the USMNT midfield. The game wasn’t perfect but there is enough to be excited about and hopefully we will see more of these young talents in the upcoming friendlies.
